Betty Lou Booze 1925 – 2017 Betty Lou Booze passed away October 1, 2017, at her home in Tehachapi, CA. A memorial service will be officiated by Pastor Kevin Caudle and Pastor Dale Sheley on November 4, 2017, at Christian Life Assembly Church, 920 W. Valley Blvd., Tehachapi, CA, at 1:00 p.m. There will be a private interment at Tehachapi Public Cemetery – Westside. Betty is the oldest daughter of parents Alvin A. Smith and Hazel I. (Wade) Smith. She was born in Denver, Colorado, February 9, 1925. She was a high school graduate. Betty trained in “invisible” china and bisque doll repair in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She married Jack Larry Booze, June 8, 1974. Betty worked as a waitress, pharmacy assistant, and owner of her own doll repair shop. Betty was a collector of dolls and tea cups. She loved seasonal decorating and was an avid gardener. Betty was president of the Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce and had the privilege of participating in the ribbon cutting of the 118 Freeway and Eastern Star. She was a member of the Christian Life Assembly Church and helped in Women’s Ministries and girls Missionettes. She was a whistler during worship services and helped with the young people’s car washes, squirting them all with Super Soakers at the age of 75. Betty was always full of life. She taught her grandchildren how to shoot toothpick “spitwads” at the ceiling in Henry’s Café. Betty is survived by her husband, Jack Booze; sister, Donna Jean Campbell of Grand Junction, CO; children, Janene and Dale Harris of Buellton, CA, Linda Heisser of Eureka Springs, AR, Pam and Randy Baker of West Sacramento, CA, Johnett Latone of Tehachapi, CA, Larry and Judy Booze of Streator, IL, Carmela and Robert Noel of Palmdale, CA, Henry Booze of Santa Cruz, CA, and Sharon and Rick Stabile of Thousand Oaks, CA. She has 12 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Betty was preceded in death by five of her siblings and her son, Jarron Lucas.
